ABOUT MARCY

I believe in a no-nonsense approach to nutrition counseling. My goal is to help you feel better, whatever that looks like to you. I can provide you practical tips and advice on leading a more healthful lifestyle. I am also trained in treating IBS by using the FODMAP diet.

Professor, Chef, & Dietitian

I like to tell people I've had 9 lives and I'm currently on my 10th. I work full time at SUNY Oneonta as Assistant Professor in the Foods and Nutrition program where I teach the next generation of dietitians. I am also a writer, researcher, recipe developer, and chef.

After growing up in a small town in Ohio, my family and I lived around the US -- Whidbey Island, WA; Chicago; Bozeman, Montana. I'm happy to call New Berlin home now.

Education

PhD in American Studies - Montana State University, Bozeman, Montana
MS in Sustainable Food Systems - Montana State University, Bozeman, Montana
BA in English Literature  - Miami University, Oxford, Ohio
Culinary Arts (no degree) - Illinois Institute of Art Chicago; Cincinnati State
In my spare time, you can find me catching up on TV shows, writing, gardening, traveling, hiking (especially the Camino de Santiago), and cooking/baking a lot of food.
